Studia Historiae Ecclesiasticae is the official journal of an academic society, The Church History Society of Southern Africa. This is a society for professional church historians in South Africa who have acquired at least a master's degree in church history. The annual meeting of the CHSSA is in January where papers related to the academic search for the history of religion in South Africa are read. The editorship of Studia Historiae Ecclesiasticae is based at the University of South Africa, and the present editor is Prof C Landman. It is an accredited journal.
